For Lauren, Jenna, & Kathryn

        I.
I would throw them a slumber party
with lollipos, champagne, & cigarettes.

Bombshells in black dresses—
lipstick on perfect pouts, jet winged
eyeliner expertly applied. Their wit
is as sharp as kamikoto knives,
but they know how to enchant
with their words. Follow
them into the depths of the woods—
the dark of the ocean; be lured
onto jagged sea stacks just off the coast

       II.
They’re neon signs in the night—
the stars that appear on the horizon
just beyond the palm trees at dusk;
like winter’s day near the fireplace
with a coffee bowl filled to the brim.

        III.
They don’t need glitter to shine—
they’re incandescent. Their world
is more than celluloid, let it cast a spell
on you too—let them drive you into dawn
—their words wrapped around you
like lux plush silver blanket.
