Maria Cohut (she/her) is a Brighton-based poet of Romanian origin. Her work largely grapples with themes of identity, migration, and alienation, with poetry appearing online and in print in the Haiku Journal, The Found Poetry Review, Eunoia Review, Doll Hospital Journal, and Cephalopress, among others. Her first poetry pamphlet, Spatter Pattern (back room poetry, 2023), addresses the issue of gender violence by reimagining detective fiction tropes. She occasionally blogs at Encyclopaedia Vanitatum, and can be found on Twitter (still) @mariascohut, and on Instagram @mariac_phd.
